The c-Myc protein (Myc) is a highly conserved cellular oncogenic transcription factor belonging to a small family that also includes N-Myc and L-Myc proteins.c-Myc regulates transcription of a wide variety of genes involved in the control of cell growth, proliferation, differentiation, and apoptosis and its deregulated expression is implicated in many types of human cancer.c- Myc has an N-terminal transcription activation domain (TAD) that interacts with various coactivators and a C-terminal basic-helix-loop-helix-leucine zipper (bHLHZip) domain required for its binding on Enhancer Box sequences (E-boxes) when dimerized with MAX (another bHLH-ZIP). c-Myc also functions to regulate global chromatin structure by regulating histone acetylation.
·DescriptionRecombinant Human c-Myc produced in E. coli is a single, non-glycosylated, polypeptide chain containing 439amino acids and having a molecular mass of 48.8kDa.The recombinant Human c-Myc is produced as C-terminal poly-arginine fusion protien.
·Quality Control
Purity: Greater than 98.0% as determined by: (a) Analysis by RP-HPLC. (b) Analysis by reducing and non-reducing SDS-PAGE Silver Stained gel. Amino-Acid Sequence: The sequence of the first five N-terminal amino acids was determined and was found to be Met-Pro-Leu-Asn-Val.
Endotoxin:Less than 0.1ng/μg (1.0EU/μg) of rHu-c-Myc as determined by LAL test.
·FormulationSteriLyophilized from a 0.2um filtered protein solution in PBS.
·ReconstitutionWe recommend a quick spin followed by reconstitution of rHu-c-Myc in PBS to a concentration no less than 10ug/ml. This solution can then be further diluted to working solutions.
·Storage Lyophilized rHu-c-Myc although stable at room temperature for 3 weeks, should be stored desiccated below -18°C. Upon reconstitution recombinant human c-Myc should be stored at 4°C between 2-7 days and aliquots of reconstituted samples with 0.1% HSA or BSA are stable up to 3 months below -18°C for future use.
